How we check listings

Where listings come from

We start from the places that publish their own games: library and community center calendars, recreation departments, Jewish community centers, studios, cafés, clubs and teachers’ own websites and event pages. Organizers can also add or claim their listing on the form.

How we check them

Every listing links to the organizer’s own page, and we only publish what that page says: the day, the time, the level and the price. Each card shows the month we last checked it. We re-check listings regularly, and we take down any we can’t confirm.

Schedules change, holidays happen and rooms move, so please confirm with the organizer before you go.

What we list, and what we don’t

• We list classes, open play, clubs and teaching businesses that anyone can join, free or paid.
• We don’t list private home games, members-only clubs or anyone who hasn’t published their game themselves.
• We never show personal phone numbers, personal email addresses or home addresses. Teachers who work from home appear by city only.

Independence

Find a Table is made by Mahj Call, an app for learning and practicing American Mahjong. Listings are free, and nobody can pay to be checked or to rank higher. We list every group we can confirm, including ones that use other apps and other tile shops.

Mahj Call is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Mah Jongg League. We never reproduce the printed card.

Corrections and removals

If something is wrong, use Suggest an edit on any listing. If you run a place and want it taken down, choose Remove a listing. We handle these first, usually within two days.
